The Brief

Tastic Multimedia have worked with the Pernicious Anaemia Society since they were formed back in 2004, indeed our Managing Director was founding trustee of this international charity.

The brief for the original website was to just create a simple online presence for the newly formed society along with a online forum for members to provide each other with help and support.

The current version of the website was rebuilt in 2009 to incorporate a library of information, news section.

The brief was to create much more of a resource than the previous site had been.

We are currently in the process of drawing up plans for a redesign, and adding new features as the charity continues to grow.

Our Solution

The original version of the website was a simple website, with a phpBB forum.

In 2009 we rebuilt the system using the POCO CMS, and added a members area so that certain pages on the siet would only be available to members. We integrated the site login with the phpBB forum login, added some security features, and disabled certain parts of the forum system in order to protect peoples identities.

In 2010 we added our spam-profing, and also introduced a pay-wall so that the society could take payment for membership as well as donations.
